Most perfume workshops hand you a kit and a recipe. This one doesn't.
At Fragrant Rituals you learn the way a perfumer actually thinks — the history, the language, the philosophy behind natural scent — before you ever touch a bottle. Hosted by Zhanna Petku, a European-trained natural perfumer and founder of South Australia's only dedicated botanical perfumery, this workshop draws on ancient ritual and thousands of years of human relationship with plants.
Every ingredient is a pure botanical — flowers, resins, herbs, bark and spices. No synthetics, no shortcuts. The same materials humans have used for centuries to heal, to ritualise, and to connect.
The blending session is guided by a personalised formula Zhanna creates with you — no two perfumes ever the same. And midway through, Zhanna pauses the workshop for a handcrafted

What To Expect
Every perfume tells a story before it ever reaches your skin.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll trace the history of perfumery from ancient civilisations to today, then build your own natural composition using the same structure perfumers have relied on for centuries — top, heart and base notes, layered into a fragrance that's entirely yours.
You'll learn:
1. The evolution of perfumery, from ancient rituals to modern natural blending
2. Fragrance families and the perfume pyramid
3. Core scenting techniques and the aromatherapy principles behind them
4. How to sample, layer and blend a composition suited to your own skin and preferences
Founded by Zhanna, trained in Europe in aromatherapy and natural perfumery, Fragrant Rituals works exclusively with natural, chemical-free ingredients — small batch, hand-blended, with no synthetic fillers. Drawing on her Eastern European heritage, Zhanna brings a slower, ritual-based approach to scent: less about masking, more about reconnecting to nature and to yourself.
You'll leave with a bespoke 10ml natural perfume, made by your own hand, plus your blending notes to recreate it at home.
