Biarritz Self-Guided City Walking Tour & Scavenger Hunt
Overview
Biarritz turned a fishing village into Europe's most fashionable resort — it still hasn't told the whole story.
This app-led scavenger hunt takes you through Biarritz's seafront and town on foot, using phone-based riddles to guide you from one landmark to the next. No guide, no fixed start time.
• Follow clues to La Grande Plage, the Rocher de la Vierge, and the Halles de Biarritz — three landmarks that trace the resort from imperial playground to Basque market town
• Start whenever suits you and take all the time you need — no time limit, no pressure
• Works for families, couples, and friend groups; photo challenges on the clifftops are as dramatic as the views
Available in 24 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian — see the full list when booking and choose yours when you start the game in the app.
Around 2 hours - any group size.
The Atlantic was always the backdrop here — your phone will tell you what's been happening in front of it.

What To Expect
Starting at the Mairie on Avenue Edouard VII, enter your 6-digit game code that you received by text and [BRAND] chat message into the free Explorial app and set off on a self-guided trail through this celebrated Basque seaside resort.
At La Grande Plage — Biarritz's grand main beach backed by its casino — you'll tackle challenges about the resort's imperial heyday, when Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie turned this fishing village into Europe's most fashionable address.
The trail then winds to the Rocher de la Vierge, a sea stack connected to the promenade by an iron bridge, where questions probe the lighthouse, the crashing Atlantic, and the rock's protective legend.
At the Halles de Biarritz, the covered market at the heart of daily Basque life, you'll pick up points for identifying local specialities and market architecture.
The full trail takes around two hours at a relaxed pace, with no guide and no fixed schedule.
