Private Helmet Diving in Bora Bora with Aqua Safari
Overview
Book a private boat to explore the ocean floor of Bora Bora's legendary lagoon, just for you and your group. No swimming, scuba diving, or snorkeling experience needed, just show up in your swimsuit.
Our private helmet diving experience takes you 6 feet (3 meters) deep into a coral garden teeming with parrot fish, butterfly fish, clown fish, moray eels, stingrays, and more. You will wear a specially designed diving helmet resting on your shoulders that keeps your head completely dry, allowing you to breathe normally and walk freely underwater for 30 minutes.
A professional scuba diving instructor will be by your side throughout, making sure you have a safe and unforgettable underwater experience in Bora Bora.

Meeting and Pickup
We will pick you up by boat at all hotels accessible by boat, or at the Vaitape pier, in front of the Tourism Office.
What To Expect
Your private adventure starts with a speedboat pickup at your hotel pontoon or at the Vaitape pier, in front of the Tourism Office. As you cruise across the lagoon, enjoy the views of Bora Bora's iconic mountain, just you and your group, no strangers on board.
At the dive site, the famous yellow helmets are waiting. Your certified scuba diving instructor will walk you through a safety briefing, explaining what to expect and how to make the most of your 30-minute underwater walk. No swimming, scuba diving, or snorkeling experience needed.
At 6 feet (3 meters) deep, the helmet becomes surprisingly light, and you are free to explore the coral garden at your own pace, surrounded by parrot fish, butterfly fish, clown fish, moray eels, stingrays, and if you are lucky, a sea turtle. Keep an eye out for Coco Chanel, a resident stingray and local celebrity who may just photobomb your souvenir photos.
After 30 unforgettable minutes underwater, board your private speedboat back to your pickup point. Perfect for couples, families, and friends who want to share this experience together, with the full attention of your instructor.

The main concern with scuba diving and flying is decompression sickness (DCS). Your body needs adequate time during an ascent to off-gas excess nitrogen, or you can form bubbles in your bloodstream, possibly leading to DCS.
Jun 2024If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
