Beginner Friendly Scenic Half Day River Tour
Overview
The tiny rafting town of Big Flat in Trinity county is home to one of California’s premier family friendly, beginner whitewater runs. The Trinity River is a fun, mellow, scenic, and occasionally splashy Class II+ day trip, with some of the best rock jumping, wildlife viewing, and swimming spots in the Western US.
This trip is perfect for those looking for half a day spent idylly paddling through down a picturesque river corridor, keeping an eye out for unique wildlife along the way, and taking a dip in the river whenever you would like.
The minimum age for this trip is 4. Dogs are welcome, please let us know if you are bringing fido.
This trip includes a riverside snack of Chips and Salsa (or hummus) as well as Fruit.
We will meet at the Big Flat River Access just downstream of the town of Big Flat.
This is a Class ll River Tour.

This trip is great for beginners who would love some splashes and gentle rapids, but overall wants to enjoy nature from the unique viewpoint of a raft. This trip has plenty of relaxing, floating, swimming, and wildlife viewing opportunities, with the option of stopping for a fun cliff jump oppotunity for the adventurous ones in the group!

If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
Feb 2023- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
