Overview

Cycle the repurposed old railway line from Cork City to Passage West, a traffic free, cycle and pedestrian pathway. Visit Blackrock pier and village for it's relaxed atmosphere and bakeries. Admire Blackrock Castle, a 16th century castle, home to an Observatory. Opt to travel on by ferry to the harbour town of Cobh, the Titanic’s last port of call.

What To Expect
Cyclists can embark on a self-guided adventure from Cork Bike Hire’s Midleton depot, where friendly staff will set you up with the perfect hybrid or electric bike for your journey.
Experience the newly opened Midleton to Youghal Greenway, a 23 km off-road trail that offers a scenic, traffic-free route through East Cork’s countryside, linking Midleton, Mogeely, Killeagh, and Youghal.
Before setting off, visitors can explore Midleton’s town centre, home to the Jameson Distillery and the lively Saturday Farmers’ Market. Along the route, riders can enjoy Glenbower Woods in Killeagh, a peaceful forest with walking trails. Approaching Youghal, cyclists pass through Ballyvergan Marsh, one of Ireland’s largest coastal wetlands, before reaching Youghal’s sandy beaches and eco boardwalk.
