What To Expect
Experience winter in Helsinki the Redrib way! Among the islands, on the sea and in it. Join our crew for an active day in the archipelago near Helsinki, combining island exploration, nature, and floating in a survival suit!
Getting around the archipelago is part of the fun. Travel by steel boat or hovercraft, or a combination of both according to the day’s sea, wind and ice conditions.
Along the way, pass forested islands, rocky shores and seaside cottages. Step ashore for a guided island walk, hear stories of local life and discover the Finnish archipelago.
Then experience the winter sea for yourself. Float in an insulated survival suit, staying warm and dry as you relax on the water surface. Your guide introduces you to sea rescue and survival techniques and provides instruction and support.
When sea ice is present, the experience turns into a winter playground: break the ice, step or jump between ice blocks and learn how the ice reacts beneath you.
Gather around the campfire for a warm Finnish lunch before returning to mainland. Winter outdoor clothing, survival suits and all necessary safety equipment are provided.
