What To Expect
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure along the crystal-clear waters of Ponta da Piedade in Lagos.
Your journey begins at Lagos Marina, where you’ll board our spacious and comfortable boat. Relax as we sail along the stunning coastline towards the iconic Ponta da Piedade — famous for its dramatic cliffs, secret grottos, and natural rock arches.
Once we arrive, the real adventure begins: slide straight from the boat into your kayak and set off on a guided tour of approximately 1.15 hour. Paddle through narrow passages, explore hidden caves and beaches, and marvel at the unique rock formations carved by nature — all while your experienced guide shares stories and ensures your safety.
After your kayaking experience, you’ll be pulled back onto the boat where you’ll have about 10/15 minutes to swim, soak up the sun... or take the plunge down our onboard slide straight into the ocean!
Throughout the entire tour, the boat stays nearby to offer full support, comfort, and peace of mind.

- We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal items on board
- Take comfortable clothes/swimwear, towel, backpack, water and all your belongings stay inside of the boat safe and dry
- Glass objects are not allowed
- No refunds or rescheduling will be granted within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time
- Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts for check-in
- If you have made separate bookings but wish to be allocated to the same boat, please kindly inform our staff upon check-in, otherwise we cannot guarantee that you will be placed together on the same boat.

The maximum weight capacity for kayaking is 340 lbs / 154 kg.
Nov 2021No experience is necessary! Beginners are welcome on all of our kayak tours. Most of our guests have never been in a sea kayak before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a kayak tour. If you can hike or bike, you can paddle our sea kayaks. You do not need any swimming skills either.
The only prerequisite is a healthy spirit of curiosity and adventure.
Regardless of age or skill level you will find that our expeditions offer enough flexibility to make your experience with us safe and rewarding. We will show you proper sea kayaking technique and water safety before leaving the beach. And your expert guides will be with you throughout the adventure to give you pointers and improve your skills.
Sep 2022Your safety is Cool Shore Excursions’s number one concern. In general, sea kayaking is safer than most other outdoor pursuits, even bicycling.
Jan 2023If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
Feb 2023- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
