The Plaza de Ramales, located in Madrid’s historic centre, is a quiet and historic corner a short walk from the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. This picturesque square occupies the place where the church of San Juan Bautista, destroyed in the 19th century and famous for being the burial place of the painter Diego Velázquez, was located. Although his grave has never been found, a memorial plaque in the square recalls this fact.The square is surrounded by elegant buildings and terraces where we can enjoy local cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a perfect place to pause during a walk through the most historic and monumental Madrid.
