What sets this apart is the wave itself. The Wai Kai Wave is an engineered standing wave—a continuous, perfectly shaped break that lets you surf in place with no paddling and no ocean conditions to fight. It's the only experience of its kind in Hawaii.
That means no waiting for the right swell, no crowded lineup, and no unpredictable surf. The wave runs on demand, so your session is consistent, controlled, and built around you.
A member of our experienced wave team stays with you the whole time, so even total beginners get up and riding fast—and everyone is guaranteed to catch a wave.
You're also surfing at one of Oahu's most celebrated destinations: a Top 5 USA TODAY Best New Attraction and Hawaii's Best winner, set on a 52-acre waterfront playground on Oahu's west side. What To Expect
The Wai Kai Wave is the easiest way to start surfing—and one of the most fun ways to level up if you've already got skills. There's no paddling out and no pop-up to master. You simply slide into a continuous, perfectly shaped wave and go.
Beginners feel the real stoke of surfing within minutes, while seasoned surfers can carve, pump, and chase the wave's pocket for 45 minutes straight—no waiting on a set, no crowded lineup. Choose your wave size to match your skill level and how hard you want to push it.
Your session starts with a video orientation and a hands-on demonstration to get you riding, plus ongoing pointers throughout your time on the water. Each session runs one hour, with 45 minutes on the Wai Kai Wave, and includes a soft-top surfboard, helmet, and instruction.
This is an Open Session—a group format where anyone can book in, with a maximum of 10 surfers per session.

If you have any doubts about becoming seasick on the water, we recommend taking a Dramamine® Motion Sickness Relief tablet the night before your trip. Some people recommend taking it the night before your cruise and then again that morning so you will not feel so drowsy.
Feb 2023- For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the tour start time.
- If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
- Any changes made less than 24 hours before the tour start time will not be accepted.
