Taupō Return Shuttle
Overview
Transport for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is essential. If you are staying in Taupō and you do not have a vehicle this is the only option that takes you to and from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing from Taupō.
If you have a vehicle and you would like to drive yourself please look at our Ketetahi Park And Rride. Another great option for fast and slow hikers.

It is important to be waiting outside and visible 10 mins before pick up timeIf you are staying at another location, please email us as we may be able to pick you up from there.
What To Expect
This Tongariro Crossing shuttle service picks you up from central Taupō at 5:15am. We will pick you up either from your Taupō accommodation, or from the Taupō iSite.
We will get you to Mangatepopo by 7.00am, allow for up to 8 hours to complete the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and depart back to Taupō by 3.00pm. However, if everyone has finished the track and checked in early, the shuttle back to Taupō will leave early too. Please note that you must be off the track before 3pm - if you are worried about not making it back in time you may like to consider doing our one-way Tongariro Park & Ride option.
We then get you back to Taupō by 4:30pm so you can have a relaxing afternoon, watching the sunset over the mountain you just climbed.
