Along the shore of the reservoir an old road passes, known as far back as I century BC. Greek historian Strabo. This road from the time of the Russian Empire is called the Georgian Military.

The next stop will be at the Fortress Ananuri, which belongs to the early feudal era and served as an outpost of defense, blocking the road leading from the Darial Gorge. Gergeti Trinity Church

Then you look at the village of Kazbegi. And there, in the clouds, at the top of the mountain, on the snow-covered rocks stands an amazing temple, Gergettskaya Sameba. It is located at an altitude of 2,170 m at the foot of Kazbegi, along the Georgian Military Highway, in the Georgian village of Gergeti. The Gerget trio is the most "mountain" of the churches of Georgia.
