Private Viking Walk of York
Overview
Explore York with a real Viking! Join your guide for a private, two-hour walking tour through the city’s remarkable Viking past. Hear the stories of famous figures including Ragnar, Ivar the Boneless, Erik Bloodaxe and Harald Hardrada, and discover why York became such an important Viking stronghold—and the setting for so many battles.
Your tour is arranged around you. Choose a meeting time and place that suits you, including your hotel, then explore at your own pace without a fixed group or schedule. It’s a lively, friendly way to discover Viking York, with history and storytelling brought together by a guide in Viking character.
For a small additional fee, you can add a stop at an authentic Viking-themed bar, on a site associated with York’s Viking kings—a cosy option on a cold day.
